Mobile Live Lecture 'TalkKang' Storm, Spreads across the Nation's Educational Institutions in Two Months
The online-offline linked (O2O) mobile live lecture system 'TalkKang' has emerged as a hot issue in the nation's educational institutions. It is attracting attention as a new alternative to offline lectures in the With Corona era and as a new way to enhance individual academy competitiveness.
According to Anarchy (CEO Mun Hoan Ahn), the developer of TalkKang, as of the end of July, 30 academies nationwide have introduced TalkKang, and more than 20,000 students are using TalkKang. This is the achievement achieved in about two months after the launch of TalkKang on June 1st.
Starting with famous academies in Gangnam such as Seoul Daechi Mesa Talent Academy, Daechi KNS Academy, and Sumisa Academy, Mokdong Galmuri Academy, Junggye-dong Gukpung 2000 Academy, Gyeonggi Lee Jae-sik Korean Academy, Jeonju ARA Academy, Gwangju Olbaron Academy, Jeonnam Mokpo Jeongsang Language Academy, and Jeju Isan Academy have introduced TalkKang. Most are medium to large academies with 500-1000 students.
Daechi Mesa Talent Academy uses the TalkKang system to deliver Korean, English, and math lectures to students at Jeonju Seongsan High School dormitory. They have started to remotely manage students who used to come to Seoul Daechi-dong to attend lectures during vacations or weekends. Daechi KNS Academy provides TalkKang services to children of overseas expatriates and diplomats who used to return home for 1-2 months during vacations to attend lectures. Mokpo Jeongsang Language Academy uses TalkKang to deliver TOEIC and civil service exam subjects to local universities and vocational high schools.
The reason for the spread of TalkKang introduction and utilization in the academy sector is due to the special advantages that TalkKang has. TalkKang is a live lecture service based on electronic whiteboard writing that combines the advantages of whiteboard lectures and remote education.
Academies can provide existing popular offline lectures online while incorporating the latest trends such as interactive content, real-time Q&A, and reaction comments to simultaneously increase fun and learning effectiveness. They can retain existing students who are difficult to move and gather due to COVID-19 while also expanding the scope of students.
While existing offline lectures cost 200,000-300,000 won per subject, using TalkKang allows providing more subjects for 50,000-100,000 won per person.
Mun Hoan Ahn, CEO of Anarchy, said, "Unlike existing one-way remote lectures, TalkKang enables real-time two-way communication between instructors and students. It also provides various specialized functions such as lectures and problem solving, checking correct/incorrect answer rates and scores, empathy chat, and VOD services for important content," and "We plan to expand TalkKang supply from entrance exam and civil service exam academies to kindergartens, schools, and lifelong education institutions."
