First 'Real-time Live Lecture' in Local Council

Jeyun Uijeong, a local council education specialist, announced on the 24th that it conducted the first nationwide live online lecture through mobile apps and the internet in local councils. As most existing local council seminar schedules were canceled due to 'COVID-19', concerns about the expertise of local councilors have grown. Based on its experience in operating parliamentary training and seminars, Jeyun Uijeong planned and opened non-face-to-face online courses to fill the gap in local councilor education.

This online lecture is expected to become a new foundation for strengthening local councilor capabilities in the COVID-19 era and is receiving great attention.

This lecture was conducted live so that professors and councilors could communicate in real time. This is because it was judged that interaction would be difficult if conducted as a recorded lecture. The first lecture was successfully conducted for about 2 hours on the 22nd, and questions and opinions were exchanged with councilors based on the lecture content. In particular, since it supports various devices such as smartphones, tablet PCs, and laptops, councilors can watch without being restricted by time and place in their busy parliamentary activities.

Councilors no longer need to move to seminar venues to attend lectures, so they can take unlimited courses in various fields that were difficult to access before. The lecture can be re-watched unlimitedly for 5 days after the lecture. The classes are prepared with practical topics centered on local council parliamentary activities such as administrative affairs audit, budget review, and understanding of private consignment and local subsidies. Local administration experts such as Professor Choi Min-soo (former senior expert member of the National Assembly Operations Committee) and other professional faculty members are in charge of the lectures. Currently, the number of applicants reaches about 100 per subject.
